Shanghai Phillips Construction Equipment Company
     
 Ira Phillips was the Co-Founder, Co-Owner, President, and Chairman of the Board of the Shanghai Phillips Construction Equipment Company. The company was formed in 1999 to distribute Ditch Witch construction equipment and electronics in China. Ditch Witch is the largest manufacturer of Underground Construction Equipment and Electronics in the world. In 2002 and 2003 the company was the number one international distributor for Ditch Witch products. In 2003 it was in the top fifteen distributors worldwide.

                      He was awarded the "Silver Magnolia Medal" by Shanghai Goverment for his contributation to the ecomomic growth of China.


Phillips Marketing Associates, Incorporated
     
 Ira was the Founder and President of Phillips Marketing Associates. The company provided market development and consulting services for a wide variety of companies including Sheraton Hotels Asia and a training division of American Airlines. He was the director of a team to design and implement a thirty million dollar integrated poultry facility for the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma. He also was selected by numerous American Tribes to provide consulting on business development issues. 
American Indian Business Man of the Year
      The Oklahoma Indian Women Business Association selected him as the American Indian Business Man of the Year in 1994. This award was in recognition of his contribution to the development of American Indian businesses.  

Oklahoma Housing Finance Authority

      Governor Henry Bellmon appointed Ira as a Trustee of the Oklahoma Housing Finance Authority with specific direction to “clean house” and get the agency back on a professional level. The mission was accomplished and today the agency is one of the model housing finance authorities in the nation.

Commissioner of Labor for the State of Oklahoma

     Governor Henry Bellmon appointed Ira as Commissioner of Labor. During his tenure he reduced operating costs by ten percent, restructured and trained the department’s management team, and implemented several programs that received national recognition including a Child Labor Task Force.  The Child Labor Task Force provided training for students and employers concerning their responsibility under both federal and state child labor laws. Under his leadership numerous antiquated Oklahoma child labor laws were revised. 

United States Department of the Interior

      The Secretary of the United States Department of the Interior selected Ira to provide him with advice on American Indian Tribal relations.  

W.R. Grace Agriculture Chemicals Group

      As Vice President of Sales for the Agriculture Chemicals Group of this Fortune 500 Company Ira’s development, management, and leadership skills resulted in an eighteen million dollar increase in sales within the first six month after assuming the position.   

Governor’s International Business Development Team

      Two of Oklahoma’s governors selected Ira to serve on the Governor’s International Business Development Team. During these appointments he made several trips to Asia.

China Trade Missions

      Since 2001 he has assisted in planning and scheduling three Oklahoma Governor’s Trade Missions to China. He has met in China with numerous delegations from other states and the Assistant Secretary from the United States Department of Commerce.

      Numerous companies and organizations in China and the United States have selected Ira and his team as their Business Advisor.

Reserve Adjunct Professor  

      In addition to all his business experiences and successes, Ira has served as a Reserve Adjunct Professor for International Business in the Master of Business program for Southern Nazarene University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He has also lectured at several schools and universities on a variety of topics related to China.

Board of Directors
      He has served on the Board and/or advisor for manufacturing companies assisting them with their business development, management, and marketing programs.  He has also served on Board of Directors for numerous civic and volunteer organizations such as the Oklahoma Academy for State Goals and the Tulsa Global Alliance. He has also been the coordinator for the St. John’s Episcopal Church’s Habitat for Humanity program.
University Degrees
      He received a Master of Management Degree, with numerous honors, from Southern Nazarene University in 1998 where he maintained a 4.0 grade point average. He also received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Tulsa in 1965.
